DIY Christmas Mini Banner

hanging banner that says comfort and joy

Living in an apartment usually means a shortage on space for extra decor. But since my husband and I are hosting Christmas this year, I decided to turn up the volume on the Christmas decorations.

Inspired by a DIY banner my sister posted a few days ago, I decided to create my own banner but with a traditional spin using a plaid-meets-houndstooth fabric (which, let’s face it, was also inspired by another blog post! Julee Dyer’s DIY tartan plaid wreath).

Here’s how I did it:

stack of paper

Hand holding ruler on paper

Scissors and small rectangle squares made from paper

hand drawing letter o

Hand-drawn letters inspired by Simon Script font.

Letter R drawn on rectangle-shaped paper

Bird's eye view of hand-drawn letters that say comfort and joy

letter f

hand drawing flag on fabric

Flag-shaped fabric

Paper with banner letters on of flag-shaped fabric

Hot glue gun pushing out glue on paper

Twin hot glued to flag-shaped fabric

    • Thanks, Beth. 🙂 A little time consuming, but super easy to make! You can tell I’m focused on my role as hostess for Christmas!
